A neat and free website to change ebook formats:

I came across this useful and simple to use website yesterday, which I thought might be of interest you you guys.

It is a website that will change the format of any ebook or document you have to another ebook format.   Simple as that.   And it is amazingly easy to use and most importantly for those of us of  Scottish ancestry, it is free too!

All you have to do is decide what format you wish the ebook to be changed to, select that format, upload the ebook, press a couple of buttons on screen and then in no time your ebook is reformatted to the format you have chosen.  You then download it, bung it onto your ereader and off you go.   Could hardly be easier.

Caliber offers many more possibilities than this site, but, you don’t need to download any software, or even know anything much about formats, simply need to know what format you wish the ebook to be in, and that is all.   Thus this is ideal for those out there who are not really happy with the relatively complex processes involved in most format changers  you can get.

It can manage just about all the standard ebook formats as well, even Mobi, so you can buy ebooks in any format you wish, then change them to Mobi and then happily read them on your Kindle, for example.

To test it, I uploaded a book I have in PDF format – which is a format I hate to read on my ereader, asked it to change the ebook to ePub, and then when it had finished – which took all of about 3 minutes – I downloaded it and put it into my ereader, and had a look at it.   Perfect.  It even managed the various Chinese names in the ebook perfectly well.  I was impressed, and shall use this site a lot in the future, of that I am sure.

As Rich Adin points out in his comment, this site won’t convert ebooks that have DRM protection.
