Cheap ereader lights – All less than $25

eBookAnoid

Ereaders are wonderful things, as we all know, but, as with their paper cousins, they suffer from one problem, and that is the fact that at night you need a light to read by.   So I thought I would have a wander around the net and see if I could find any ereader lights that don’t cost almost as much as the ereader itself.  Here is what I found…………..

Small note:

I shan’t give long specifications for these reading lights, as basically they are all much the same, one or more LEDs, a swan neck, a clip and there you go…. I hope the small pictures will tell you enough.

Belkin Clip-On Reading light:

This is a straight forward small reading light, which in common with most such accessories uses LEDs and thus gives hours of reading between changing batteries.

Specifically it has three LEDs with two brightness settings.

The light has a very flexible arm, so that the light source can be positioned for the best illumination of your ebook  and is so designed that it is easy to tuck the head of the light away when not using it, something that is often overlooked with these reading lights I have found.

As it is a clip  on, it will work with almost all ereaders of course.

Cost: $24.99 at Amazon.  Link to Amazon to buy this light:

Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light

Here we have yet another LED reading light, which like the Belkin above, simply clips onto your ereader or its case, so can be used with almost any ereader.   This one has two LEDs in it (they call them “super LEDs, and claim they are as bright as 6 regular LEDs)

Cost:  $14.99 at Amazon. Link to Amazon to buy this light:

Verso Clip-On Reading Light:

Another swan neck, with clip.

This one only has one LED and is specifically designed to fit the Kindle range or ereaders, but would probably work OK on any other ereader… But check!

Sadly this one has one major drawback, and that is that it uses those tiny batteries, such as you have in your watch.  These are expensive, hard to find and don’t actually last very long (as opposed to AAA batteries, which the slightly larger reading lights tend to use).

Cost: $19.99  at Amazon:  Link to Amazon to buy this light:

LightWedge Flex Neck Clip-On Reading Light

Another reading light that uses those infernal tiny batteries I am afraid, but otherwise a fine bit of equipment I feel.

It has the rather nice possibility of tucking its head (the light source) into its base for transportation, which I rather like.

Otherwise, like all the others, LED, swan neck and clip.

Cost: currently $14.99, normally $19.99.  Link to Amazon to buy this light:

So, there you have a few ereader lights for your night time reading,  and all less than $25 as I promised.  I shall be returning to this one soon, as I have actually found some ereader lights that cost as little as $7 each, but have to try them out before writing about them.  So watch this space!
