9 months ago, Amazon launched the Kindle Fire Tablet on the world, and now it is sold out, and reading between the lines of Amazon’s press release about this, they have no intention of making any more of the things.

All rather odd, and certainly gives strength to the rumours that in a couple of days Amazon will be announcing the launch of a follow-up device for the Kindle Fire.

Given that according to Jeff Bezos, (CEO and Founder of Amazon)the Kindle Fire has been one of the best selling device that Amazon have ever produced, I suppose it is inevitable that a newer version of this gadget will be created.

If the rumours on the web are to be believed, we are about to be given the pleasure of buying a brand new, updated and superbly functional successor to the Kindle Fire in the next few days. Though what exactly this will be is the subject of happy speculation on the part of the world’s techie Bloggers… For my part I have no idea what it might be to be honest, so along with the rest of the world I shall have to wait and see what he announces in about a week’s time.

Not sure I appreciate this system of “selling out” just before the launch of the following device that both Amazon and Sony seem to be going in for these days, but in such a competitive market as the ereader/tablet market, I suppose any trick that encourages people to buy the latest and newest version of any device is at least understandable.

To encourage us all, Jeff Bezos had this to say:-

“We’re grateful to the millions of customers who have made Kindle Fire the most successful product launch in the history of Amazon. This has been a big year for digital products on Amazon—all of the top 10 sellers on Amazon.com since Kindle Fire launched just less than a year ago are digital products. Kindle Fire is sold out, but we have an exciting roadmap ahead—we will continue to offer our customers the best hardware, the best prices, the best customer service, the best cross-platform interoperability, and the best content ecosystem.”

So, Bezos has spoken, and promised us a wondrous new future of even better gadgets to ensure that we continue to buy things from Amazon for the next year, after which, no doubt, a further version of the Kindle Fire will appear, one that is not only great for all the current purposes, but will also make the best cup of coffee in the world.
