Out Of Print – Great Covers For iPads And Fire Tablets

Out of Print, a company who make ereader covers using old paper book cover designs have just launched a range for the iPad 2 and 3 as well as the Kindle Fire Tablet.

I have written about this company’s products before (link below) and I remain rather charmed by them.   As we all know, ereaders are relatively fragile things, and thus need protecting.  To this end an enormous number of companies produce a wide range of covers of one sort or another, most of which are perfectly functional and work well.  But Out of Print have taken it a step further, as they have produced a range of covers that look like real paper hardback books, and feel like them too.   So as you sit there sipping your Starbucks coffee, people around you will think you are deep in a copy of Lolita or whatever cover you have chosen.

As you can see from the photos, these covers are cheerful and colourful, and obviously well made for the purpose, so your ereader, iPad or Tablet is safely and comfortably ensconced in its cover.

Further, the way they have been made means that you can use them to set your ereader at a comfortable angle as well, so it doubles up as a sort of portable lectern as well, which is a nice touch I feel.

In their blurb about these covers, Out of Print describe them as follows:-

It’s time to put the “book” back into eBooks. Made by the oldest bookbindery in the U.S. to look, feel and wear like an actual book.

– Hardcover book board wrapped with heavyweight cloth using traditional bookbinding techniques
– UV coated for added protection and water resilience
– Soft interior rubber cradle specifically designed to safely hold and protect your eBook
– Made with recycled materials

Having seen and tested a very wide range of ereader covers, I can happily recommend the products of this mob to you, as a sensible, functional and good looking cover.. Not cheap, but well made.

Where to get them:  http://outofprintclothing.com/ebook-cases/

What will it cost: About $40 depending on the model.

These cases look so great! I am looking to get a new iPad case, and I heard of a new company called Domeo Products that will be launching on November 19. It looks like they are going to have some great iPad cases, but I was wondering if you have heard of them? I am looking forward to checking out their products at http://www.domeoproducts.com.
