Worldreader want to send 1 million ebooks to African kids – And you can help them achieve this amazing goal.
I have been writing about the work that Worldreader have been carrying out in several West African countries now for some time. During which they have managed to get about 100 000 ebooks into the hands of these kids, all of whom live in poor rural villages or small towns, and have shown that ereaders such as the Kindle (with its 3G and WiFi connectivity) really work in such places.
The kids have fallen upon these devices like hungry wolves and have been devouring ebooks like there is no tomorrow. Not only the school kids, but all their friends and families have also been reading as well. A whole world has opened up for these people.

All the inevitable nay sayers have been proven wrong…. almost no ereaders have been stolen of lost, the kids reading abilities have gone up as shown in various tests, and their school work in general seems to have improved as they now have access to the entire world of books – and by God they are relishing it!!
