If you already have the Lamborghini and the Cartier watch and are wondering what else to buy yourself, then this ereader cover made by a company called Graphic Image is perhaps the thing for you.

Made from real supple calf’s leather, this baby will happily accommodate just about any standard sized ereader, be it a Kindle, a Nook, a Sony or whatever in its comfortable and sturdy arms.  In passing I would comment that this is obviously not something a true vegetarian would want…

Killing calves to make ereader covers?  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……………..

As you can see from the photos, it is in fact a very straightforward ereader cover, without any extra goodies apart from a pocket on the left hand side which is large enough to keep a number of papers and so on in.

Personalize it.

One thing that does make it stand out is that you can get them to place your initials on it for a small extra charge ($7.50), which is rather fun I think.

For the rest, it is a simple, straight forward cover, which works on the well known system of having four elasticated bands at each corner which hold your ereader securely in place.

M-Edge, well known for their wide range of ereader accessories have now launched their uView Mounting System on a number of their iPad covers. This system allows you to click your iPad into the cover in a whole range of different manners, and apparently is the first step in a set of covers using this system to allow you to mount a number of iPad gadgets in these covers.

Rather than write a long screed describing what this system offers us, I thought I would simply show you the promo video they have made, which describes pretty well what it is, and how you use it.

This mounting system, which I wrote about a while ago in another post about M-Edge accessories (link below) is now apparently sold with the range of iPad covers in the photo here, and at no extra cost as far as I can discover.

The High Capacity Solar Charger Battery for Pc Laptop + Mobile Phone has to be the ultimate solar charger for anyone who uses all manner of mobile digital devices from laptops through ereaders to mobile phones and who spends time in far flung places without easy access to mains power.

Most too small, but not this one!

Most solar chargers I have come across for our mobile devices are reasonably small and modest gadgets, and by and large are perfectly adequate for their function.   But they do tend to be specific for a particular size of device, so probably too small for a laptop for example.  But this baby will charge anything you happen to  have with you as you roam happily around in the beautiful swooping valleys of Central Asia, or the Appalachian mountains.

In order to give you the amazing range of devices it can charge for you, you of course pay a price, and not only a financial one, but also in weight obviously. It isn’t light, so a definite one for a back pack rather than carrying around in a bag I would say.   But given that it can be recharged with sunlight as well as any other power source you happen to have available, it really does give you real freedom to roam anywhere you want, and still be able to get your laptop up and running.

As it has an USB output, it will obviously charge your ereaders as well.

Truly universal charger:

Its specifications are impressive, as you will now see…

M-Edge, who make all manner of useful and solid accessories for a wide range of mobile digital devices, have announced that they will be offering their entire range of iPad 2 accessories for the iPad HD ..   Er… iPad 3….  Er…..  What is the damn thing called? Anyway, for the newest iPad model of course.

uView Mounting System

Not only their well known and popular range of accessories for the earlier models of the iPad will be available for this newest iPad, but also a revolutionary new frame, which they are calling uView Mounting System.

Apparently this will be the basis for a number of other attachments which will be designed to attach to this frame, but so far I have no real info about it, only a small image from their blog and a brief description of it, as follows:

The uView Mounting System is a molded polycarbonate four-corner iPad frame that snaps in via a universal attachment clip that mounts into the jacket in landscape or portrait modes, or can be detached for lower profile protection.  A unique feature of the uView Mounting System is the capability to attach additional accessories to the frame for easy access and storage.  Among the planned attachments are a stand and handle, a stylus clip, gaming accessories and more.

M-Edge CTO Adam Ashley says, “Our customers want their iPads to do it all, and they expect their accessories to do it all too.  We asked ourselves, how could we give them the ultimate in versatility, style, function, and protection?  This universal mount, uView, works in countless stand positions and angles, can be used in and out of the jacket, and incorporates many of the add-on accessories our customers are clamoring for.  We can’t wait for iPad fans to get their hands on it.”

Sounds good, doesn’t it?  As soon as I know more about it, I shall let you know at once.

This mysterious wonder aside,, they will be offering all you happy iPad 3 owners the following accessories, all of which will be available at among other places, their own online store.  Links to that below.

Cheap ereader lights – All less than $25

Ereaders are wonderful things, as we all know, but, as with their paper cousins, they suffer from one problem, and that is the fact that at night you need a light to read by.   So I thought I would have a wander around the net and see if I could find any ereader lights that don’t cost almost as much as the ereader itself.  Here is what I found…………..

Small note:

I shan’t give long specifications for these reading lights, as basically they are all much the same, one or more LEDs, a swan neck, a clip and there you go…. I hope the small pictures will tell you enough.

Belkin Clip-On Reading light:

This is a straight forward small reading light, which in common with most such accessories uses LEDs and thus gives hours of reading between changing batteries.

Specifically it has three LEDs with two brightness settings.

The light has a very flexible arm, so that the light source can be positioned for the best illumination of your ebook  and is so designed that it is easy to tuck the head of the light away when not using it, something that is often overlooked with these reading lights I have found.

As it is a clip  on, it will work with almost all ereaders of course.

Cost: $24.99 at Amazon.  Link to Amazon to buy this light:

Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light

Here we have yet another LED reading light, which like the Belkin above, simply clips onto your ereader or its case, so can be used with almost any ereader.   This one has two LEDs in it (they call them “super LEDs, and claim they are as bright as 6 regular LEDs)

Cost:  $14.99 at Amazon. Link to Amazon to buy this light:
